Welcome Back!
Today, I wanted to share with you a great conversation I had with Apologist, and Radio show host, John Martignoni. The problem with that is the conversation was cut off, after an hour and a half, and the file was lost… never to be heard again. This is what you get when you deal with a Hack like me.
I do, however, have a 7 minute fragment from the “Lost interview with John Martignoni” that I will share with you today. The Audio quality is not so good but I think it will serve as a teaser for the “mulligan” interview I will conduct in December.
Today, we also discuss Matthew 6:7 and weather or not Catholics are in violation of Jesus’ words about “Vain Repetition” when we pray the Rosary (for example). Have a listen and send me your feedback.
Also, the first one to send me some feedback on the “homework” assignment will get a free Catholic Hack! T-Shirt. Listen to the podcast for more details.
I pray that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
God Bless

Welcome Back!
Thought I might send out a note with some up and comings for The Catholic Hack! podcast. My interview with John Martignoni, of EWTN Open Line and www.biblechristiansociety.com, was pushed back to Friday 11/16/07 so look for that to be posted over the weekend.
On Saturday, November 24th I will be recording my interview with Tarek Saab from The Apprentice TV show and Lionheart Apparel (http://www.lionheartapparel.com). Tarek has a strong Pro-Life message and I’m eager to share with you.
On Monday, November 26th I will be recording the first in my series on the Holy Rosary. For that podcast I’m fortunate to have a couple of special guests for you… Greg and Jennifer Willites from the Rosary Army and SQPN (http://www.rosaryarmy.com). We will talk about the history of the Rosary, the prayers, the devotion, and the Rosary Army.
On Tuesday, November 27th I will be recording my interview with Carl Olson author of Will Catholic be left behind. This should be a great discussion on the Catholic position on the end times. Will there be a Rapture? Stick around… let’s talk about it.
Interviews I’m still trying to nail down:
Mark Brumly, president of Ignatius Press, Jim Burnham, Catholic Answers Apologists, and Mike Aquilina, author of The Mass of the early Christians and vice president of The Saint Paul Center for Biblical Theology, have all tentatively agreed to be guests but I have not yet secured a date. I have also been trying to reach out to Michael Barber, and Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio (http://www.crossroadsinitiative.com/index.html) but, so far, have not been able to establish contact. Do me a favor… pray that the Holy Spirit will nudge them to reach back as I feel they have a lot to share with The Catholic Hack! listeners.
The Saint Paul Center for Biblical Theology has given me the green light to use their course material on the podcast. If you have not already done so… go to www.salvationhistory.com and check out what they have to offer. This is a fantastic resource and I think you will agree. After Thanksgiving I will be working on this series, called the Salvation History series, which will be more like an audio bible study that you can follow along with. You will need to register with the Saint Paul Center though (its free) and please tell them The Catholic Hack! sent you.

Let’s talk about 1Tim 2:5 , there is one mediator between God and Man, the Man Christ Jesus. Is it a violation of scripture to ask for the intercession of the saints? How can they even hear our prayers? Do they even care… would they not be more concerned with worshiping God than paying attention to our situation?
These are all questions I struggled with in my conversion and I think we can shed some light on them in this podcast. The first step is to understand, as the CCC puts it, we are a family… One Body (Ep 4:4). From that foundation we then need to understand the how… for that we turn to John’s Gospel chapter 15. We see, in John 15, how we are all connected to each other, just as the different parts of the body, through Jesus. We can do nothing with out him…. but, with him, we merely have to ask and it will be done. By asking… i.e. praying for each other… we glorify God and our Joy can be complete. The saints can hear our prayers because they are connected to the same vine we are… Jesus.
Ok… but, why would they care… do they care… how do we know? Good questions… and we can see biblical examples of how souls, after death, have a knowledge of the goings on here on earth. We can also see them offering intercession on our behalf. Why do they care? Because they are absolutely righteous… and they are eager to beg God for your benefit… so that you… their brother or sister will be there, standing beside them in heaven, praising and worshiping God. James 5:16 tells us that the prayer of a righteous man is powerful… who is more righteous than the purified souls who are united to God himself in heaven?
If you can ask your earthly family and friends to pray for you; then why not your heavenly family and friends? Are you violating 1 Tim 2:5 by praying for a friend in need? No… even though you are now acting as a mediator between God and man. We pray for one another because we love each other and it pleases God to see his Children build each other up… pray and offer sacrifice for one another.
I hope you enjoy this podcast.
God Bless
